THE ORGANIZATION

Located in the heart of San Francisco’s Tenderloin, Bay Area Women’s and Children’s Center (BAWCC) supports women and children so they can thrive. BAWCC’s vision is to ensure women and children in the Tenderloin feel safe, secure and inspired to achieve their dreams.

The Bay Area Women’s and Children’s Center is a multi-faceted resource center providing the following:

  • Direct Services Program assists families, children, and women in addressing their immediate needs.

  • Advocacy/Community Planning Program does local and citywide educational work, advocacy, and planning on issues critical to low-income children and families.

  • Neighborhood development and long-term community projects identified by low-income families, youth, and women. This includes efforts such as the campaign BAWCC spearheaded and led for the creation of the Tenderloin Community Elementary School and on-site Family Center, the Tenderloin Recreation Center, and five playgrounds in the Tenderloin and SF Civic Center.

SALARY/BENEFITS

  • Salary range is $110,000 - $130,000

  • Benefits include:

o   Medical and dental paid 100% for employee by BAWCC

o   11 paid holidays

o   PTO is 80 hours for years 0-4

o   Sick leave is 40 hours per year

o   Workers’ compensation insurance and short-term disability insurance

o   Retirement Plan: Simple IRA

  • Improve and uplift the lives of families, children, and women in the Tenderloin with critically important services such as groceries, clothing, dental health, and a safe educational environment 

POSITION OVERVIEW

Bay Area Women’s and Children’s Center seeks a dynamic, visionary and strategic Executive Director to build on 40+ years of impact and move the organization to the next chapter. The Executive Director will maintain authentic relationships and partnerships with community leaders, school staff, governmental entities, donors, Board Members, staff, and volunteers. The Executive Director will work closely and collaboratively with the Board of Directors to provide compassionate leadership and advocacy for all who are served by BAWCC.
